Michael Bobby Kohan, 74, died peacefully on October 13, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Michael was born April 9, 1941 in Ramey, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Michael Sr; and Anna Kohan, Grandson: Oscar Rubio Jr. He graduated from UTEP with a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, and was employed by Fort Bliss as Chief of Public Works Division, Directorate of Public Works and Logistics. After retiring from Fort Bliss, he went to work for TXDOT where he was the East Area Engineer. Michael was in the United States...

Michael Bobby Kohan, 74, died peacefully on October 13, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Michael was born April 9, 1941 in Ramey, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Michael Sr; and Anna Kohan, Grandson: Oscar Rubio Jr. He graduated from UTEP with a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, and was employed by Fort Bliss as Chief of Public Works Division, Directorate of Public Works and Logistics. After retiring from Fort Bliss, he went to work for TXDOT where he was the East Area Engineer. Michael was in the United States Army, and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He is survived by his Wife: Ana Maria, Daughters: Rose Spraggins, Lorraine Nañez (Robert), Grandchildren: Ryann Danielle Fierro, Mark and Sarah Nañez, Jacob Rubio (Lizette), and Great-Grandchildren: Jaylee, and Amber Rubio, Sister: Mary Katherine Osborne (Herbert), and Brother: John (Gus) Kohan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 5:00-9:00pm with a Vigil at 7:00pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 12:30pm at Our Lady of the Valley Church. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery ETA: 2:00pm. The Family requests in lieu of flowers please make contributions to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
